Teresa Pérez, M.A.

Teresa Pérez-Gutiérrez is the Executive Manager at the Center for International Health of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) of Munich, Germany, where she coordinates international academic activities in the field of medical research and education in cooperation with universities from Asia, Africa and Latin America. 

Originally from Spain, she grew up in different countries in  a trilingual environment  in Spanish, German, and English, and is also fluent in French and Italian. She studied International Business (B.A.) at the Munich Business School and holds a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication from the LMU Munich and Venice International University. During her studies she focused on Global Governance and Human Rights, centering her research on the cultural component of military interventions and the Responsibility to Protect (United Nations’ R2P concept).

After graduating, she worked for the NATO Defense College in Rome assisting the Director of Academic Operations. In 2019, she moved back to Munich to start her current job at the Center for International Health. She has a wealth of experience as a foreign language teacher and as an intercultural trainer for different target groups in the academia and health care industry. She is currently in charge of designing and conducting intercultural training and conflict management seminars for doctoral candidates of the PhD Program in Medical Research – International Health at the LMU in Munich.

Her deep knowledge of different languages and her expertise in intercultural communication has greatly enriched her work as a translator for Spanish, German and English for The Park Group and developing intercultural training programs to promote diversity and inclusion. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling.
